Night and Day With Noah and the Whale

On Thursday night, we wandered over to the anti-folk mecca, Sidewalk Cafe, in the East Village to catch Noah and the Whale at one of their many NYC performances. I put my general disdain for the anti-folk days of yore aside (still was in no way impressed with Sidewalk, but whatever) and tried to enjoy the evening.

Noah and the Whale
came across very charming and seemed genuinely chuffed to be playing in New York. Was nice to see them in an intimate space and the crowd was quietly contended during the set, with 5 Years Time eliciting the loudest response. Their ukulele driven cover of The Smiths' Girlfriend in a Coma was a pleasant surprise.

Anthony was able to catch the band's lunchtime in-store at Virgin Megastore Union Square on Friday. Check out more photos of both Noah and the Whale events after the jump.
