Bat For Lashes Shares Glass

Listen to the new track Glass by Bat for Lashes to hit the internet.

The tune starts out as a very haunting, dark and beautiful showcase of Natasha Kahn's gorgeous voice, building up to the thumping drum line that becomes the anchor of the song. The tune actually reminds me a bit of the sound Bjork was going for with the 2007 record, Volta. Out of respect to the artist, I've posted a streaming MP3 link to the unreleased song. Enjoy the song below and make sure to pick up Two Suns when it is released on April 6th (Album cover art to the left.)

Moon and Moon was also debuted on the Culture show on BBC2, check that out HERE. Enjoy the gorgeous take on the Bruce Springsteen classic I'm on Fire below!

Little Boots Gets Magical at Studio B

Last night Greenpoint was bestowed the honor of having one of the most buzzed about artists, Little Boots, take the stage at Studio B. TLC interviewed Little Boots before sound check (stay tuned!) at which point she was distraught about the technical difficulties encountered with her Tenori-On. Unfortunately she was unable to get a hold of a new cable in time, but the show must go on!

The highly anticipated show got a late start at about 1 AM as Little Boots aka Victoria Hasketh stepped on stage in a gorgeous sheer hooded black dress. During the amazing 7-song set, Victoria debuted 2 new songs and bowed out after a stellar rendition of Stuck on Repeat. Beautiful, transient and brief, Little Boots left us all pleading for more even without the Tenori-on.

New Glasvegas Video: Flowers and Football Tops

The Glaswegian band premiered the video for their latest single Flowers and Football Tops, one of my personal favorite tracks from their 2008 self-titled debut album. The band follows up their glorious January 6th New York debut performance at Bowery Ballroom this March with gigs at Webster Hall and The Music Hall of Williamsburg. If you're lucky enough to be in Louisiana in March, TLC favorite Ida Maria supports the band on March 23rd at The House of Blues. Here's to hoping that she'll join for the remainder of the tour! [UPDATE: Ida is confirmed for The Music Hall of Williamsburg]

Enjoy the band's take on Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime by The Korgis, most recently made famous by Beck on the Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind soundtrack. Check out our coverage of their gig at Bowery earlier this month HERE.

Lily Allen Takes on The Clash

Lily Allen will appear on the War Child: Heroes charity album due out February 24th. No worries this time around, Lily was granted permission to cover The Clash's Straight to Hell unlike the trouble she got into for covering Britney Spears' Womanizer last year.

The set includes Hot Chip covering Joy Division, Duffy singing Paul McCartney, Beck taking on Bob Dylan, and the Kooks reinterpreting the Kinks among others. Sounds like a great compilation to me! Click HERE for more info.

Enjoy Lily's interpretation of the classic tune by The Clash below.

Radiohead Prep Book for March Release

Radiohead's latest project is set to be a book composed of the band's earliest press interactions. Titled Radiohead: Interviews 1991-2000, the book also highlights "the band's many accomplishments in the realm of music and visual culture, the book [and] traces the band's evolution from album to album."

Enjoy the band's rendition of one of my favorite songs ever, Joy Division/New Order's Ceremony below!

Mark Ronson and Florence cover Kelly Clarkson

Mark Ronson with Florence and the Machine covered, which in my opinion is one of the best pop songs ever, Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone backstage at Diesel's killer xXx party in London. Great job on vocals!
