Ticket Rage

I woke up at 10 to 10 this morning to attempt Radiohead tickets for their show in Camden, NJ. I had decided to skip out on the All Points West Festival because of the rather weak line up & high ticket price and settled on the idea of a road trip to one of the nation's most dangerous cities. Five minutes into the sale this morning, all I could pull up were Lawn tickets (located at the very back of the venue). Lawn simply isn't good enough for some people (me). I wasn't even allowed to attempt pulling up tickets on several browers as ticketmaster can now detect that and keeps you from doing so. I eventually felt discouraged and went back to sleep.

A few moments ago I decided to check Stub Hub for tickets. There is a staggering total of 814 tickets on sale for this event - only 34 of which are for the Lawn & 59 are GA pit tickets. And there is even a seller attempting to sell 20 GA pit tickets at the price of $309 each! These numbers and prices disgust and disturb me. How do these individuals end up with 20 GA Pit tickets? How is it that scalping is illegal, but websites like this are not shut down? Why does this happen with every Radiohead show? Are Radiohead shows the source of income for deadbeats? Does WASTE even sell 814 tickets on their pre-sale? I think I just may wind up paying $106 for a GA ticket for the Radiohead show in Virgina for my Radiohead fix. However, this may very well be the last time I deal with this garbage.

ugh! yeah I literally cannot be bothered with buying Radiohead tickets in this country anymore. My friends in London had THE MOST hassle free experience getting tickets to their Alexandra Park shows. wtf?! and touts (scalpers) are bad there too! i just don't understand. come to APW! it'll be a chilled out day and I'm pretty sure tix are still avail.

there has to be some kind of resolution to this ticket thing seriously. i wish the artists would sell them directly to the fans somehow, theres too many middle men.

ticketmaster, scalpers, venues...we're getting screwed!

yeah, I agree and you'd think that Radiohead would be the ones to pioneer this. It may be the next step for them since they sold the album directly to fans and have previously toured w/out any corporate sponsorship or advertising. Let's hope this will come to pass in the near future. I'm tired of getting ripped off as well.

for most of my life...I say this like Im old and grey, but yes the infamous radiohead tickets have always escaped me, BUT this june Im seeing them and for the first time hassle free buying happened for me!!!..Melissa I feel your pain..touts are the devil...they destroy the ticket buying experience for fans, the unfairness of having to pay triple the price to see a band I love makes me sad...I say start a protest and stop buying from these creatures...gigs will be emptier and people WILL have to notice!!!!xox
